Hydroponic Slabs
Aquos™ Slabs are used for the following
crops:
·
Tomatoes
·
Cucumbers
·
Peppers
·
Cut Flower Products

Hydroponic
Vegetable Production
Advantages
·
Sleeved with white sleeving for maximum light
reflection to plants which increases growth and yields
·
Aquos™ cubes have germinated some seeds earlier
·
Even water distribution from top to bottom
·
Excellent water to air ratios
·
Excellent root penetration
·
Excellent drainage and water movement
·
No Cation Exchange (CEC), reducing salt build up
·
Aquos™ Slabs can be steamed
·
Aquos™ will maintain its properties through long
crop productions
Planting in Aquos™ Slabs
1.
Predetermine the layout and place the Aquos™ slabs within
the layout. Place the seam of the slab facedown.
2.
Use a specialized hole-cutting device or a sharp knife to
cut holes in the polyethylene sleeve.
3.
Slabs must be fully saturated before plants can be placed
on the slabs
NOTE: Aquos™ has no cation exchange (CEC)
which allows growers to have more control over crop growth and
nutrient delivery which is excellent for hydroponics production.
Aquos™ retains water so watering cycles may (will) need to be
adjusted.
Follow normal
procedures for checking EC and pH when planting crops under
specific climate conditions grown.
pH Balancing of Aquos™
pH in Aquos™ cubes should be 6.2. A pH of about 5.7 in the
reservoir should help to maintain this level. Check cubes
randomly to ensure consistency.
